Momotaj (60). Husband died and she had two sons. Her first son also died, and her second son started living separately when he got married and then denied care for her. Hunger, poverty, physical and mental illness brought her to Shanti Sandi.
Sufia (59). Following a few years of marriage, her husband died. At that time, she was young and alone with a baby. When her daughter grew up and married, she moved into the home of her daughter son-in law’s where she encountered mental torture and financial crisis, bringing her to Shanti Sandi.

Rokeya (70). Became a widow at an early age with two babies. When her children grew up and got married, they were separated her and avoided care for her. In the end, frustration brings her here to Shanti Sandi.

Laxmi (70). Was abandoned a few years after marriage when her husband illegally migrated to India and never returned, and she moved in with her brothers who showed her disrespect, dishonor, financial hardship, bringing her to Shanti Sandi.

Sundari (60). Her first husband divorced her after she gave birth to their baby, and rem-married, rejecting care for his first wife. Her son grew up to also avoid take care of her giving her mental and emotional distress which brought her to Shanti Sandi.

Romesa (80). After her husband dies, a mother of two sons and a daughter are abandoned by her children. Mental illness and poverty brought her to Shanti Sandi.

Keya (32). At 21 days old, she was adopted into foster care. At the age of 4, her foster parents divorced and she continued living with her mom. When she was 8 years old, she escaped from her mom’s home and moved into her father’s home. At the age of 14, she faced child marriage and then divorced. Later she married two times again with both marriages failing. A life full of sadness and frustration and abandonment her to Shanti Sandi.
